About St Bartholomew's Medical Centre
We
are a practice of seven partners. We have one salaried GP, a long
term locum and one GP registrar (doctor in trining). We occasionally
employ short term locums when the need arises. We offer over 60
doctor surgeries per week. We currently look after approximately
19000 patients.
In addition,
we have many other practitioners working in the surgery: Practice
Nurses Health Care Assistants, Midwives, Physiotherapist, Psychologist,
Psychiatrist, a Drugs and Alcohol nurse, and a Citizens Advice
Bureau advisor who can help with queries on benefits. The District
Nurses and Health Visiors have now relocated in our neighbouring
building.
Our practice
area covers the eastern part of the city and surrounding area
and includes Cowley, Headington, Littlemore, Rose Hill and Blackbird
Leys. A wide range of social and ethnic groups are represented.
Translators can be booked for most languages.
Approximately
half our patients are students at Oxford Brookes University and
largely consult with us at the Oxford Brookes
Medical Centre on the Gypsy Lane campus.
