District Nurses
Community
or district nurses, employed by the Oxfordshire Community Health
NHS Trust are attached to the practice. They are registered nurses
with additional training to offer nursing care in the patient's
own home. The district nurse aims to promote the patient's independence
and ability to cope with illness and disability.
The
service offers advice and assistance with:
palliative
care
disability
discharge from hospital
wound management
incontinence and catheter care
support for carers
phlebotomy
You
may refer yourself to the district nurse by contacting the medical
centre during opening hours. If the district nurse is out on a
call, please leave a message with the receptionist.
There
is an evening nursing service, based at the medical centre until
11 pm, and this may be accessed using the practice number, 01865
242334.
