Prescriptions
If
you need continuing medication you may not have to see the doctor
each time. Your doctor will give you a computer form listing the
items which can be repeated. Please indicate on this form which
medications you require and return the form to the receptionist.
You
may request your repeat medications in person, by letter or over
the phone. If the medication you require is not on your repeat
list, you may be asked to speak to the doctor on the phone or
see the doctor in surgery. There is, also a limit to the number
of requests for repeat medications. After a specific interval
determined by your doctor, you will need to make an appointment
to have your medical condition and medication reviewed prior to
any further issues of your medication.
Please
allow 48 hours before calling to collect your repeat prescription.
It is no longer possible to collect your prescriptions on Saturday.
You may send the form by post but please allow two days for the
post office to deliver it to us. If you would like us to return
the prescription by post, please enclose a post paid, self-addressed
envelope.
We
can also deliver your prescription directly to your chosen pharmacist
so that your medicines are ready for picking up from your pharmacist.
Currently prescriptions can be delivered to:
1.
BOOTS, Cowley Road
2.
BOOTS, Retail Park
3.
JENNERS, Cowley Road
4.
SAINSBURY’S, Heyford Hill
5.
MARSTON/NORTHWAY PHARMACY, Marston
Please
indicate on your repeat request form if you wish to have your
prescription delivered to a pharmacy.
We
are now taking part in the Repeat Dispensing System.
This allows patients to collect their medicines from their chosen
pharmacist for upto a year at selected intervals. Normally this
is two monthly and is ideal for those patients whose presciptions
will not change during that year. Please talk to your GP about
this.
