Oxford Brookes University Medical Centre
The Medical Centre is located in the 3rd floor of the Colonnade Building on Headington Campus. It is open from 8.30am – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday (semester time only).
Students wishing to register with us must reside within our practice area (postcodes OX3 and OX4). Students living at Harcourt Hill Campus can register with the Botley Medical Centre. Students living at Wheatley Campus can register with the Wheatley Surgery. For more surgeries within your area, please visit NHS Choices.
During semester, appointments are available both on campus at the Medical Centre and St Bartholomew’s Medical Centre. During vacation, appointments are only available at our main surgery, St Bartholomew’s Medical Centre.
We offer a variety of appointments ranging from same‐day emergency to appointments bookable up to one month in advance. These appointments are for 10 minutes and are available between 8.30am – 12.00pm and 2.00pm – 5.40pm.
Our Practitioner team consists of a Paramedic Practitioner and Practice Nurses who offer a minor illness drop-in service from 8.30am – 12.00pm, Monday to Friday. This is a first-come, first-served basis designed for students to be seen on the day. Please note, if the drop‐in clinic is oversubscribed (too many patients waiting to be seen) and your problem is not urgent, then you may be asked to come back at another time.
To avoid waiting, you can book an afternoon appointment with a nurse, available from 1.30 – 5.30pm.
Our Practitioners are able to prescribe most medications.
Please note, if you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment and the doctor or Practitioners clinic is full, you will be asked to book another appointment. You will only be seen at the end of the surgery in exceptional circumstances.
